You Burn
04:00
|
|||
candle lighting
no fist fighting
ribbons tailing round your feet today
you know the way
stones you're casting
river's blasted
scars and mountain bars that waste away
all of your days.... no apologies
death becomes your eyes and
paint fumes, imitation grey
the critics say
just what you want them to say
bridge afire and
you're worthwhile and
you can't afford to lose
so you burn, you burn, you burn
you burn, you burn, you burn... you burn
trains are passing
longer lasting
than attention spans of your malaise
all american haze
saw you walking
dead and stalking
sneers, hypocrisy upon your face
what a waste... no apologies
it's funny how the
dead keep living
while they're sins are
all forgiven.... it's funny ain't it?
good luck with all your
validation, your
tower made of
salt and impatience
oh you gonna burn.
you burn, you burn, you burn
you burn, you burn, you burn... you burn

Mobile Homes
06:34
|
|||
we're headed west out on that old dark trail
you've got 20 bucks and i've been with betrayal
and I know... yeah I know that this ends bad
watch these mountainsides become more familiar
this ain't home, it's just a placeholder in my heart
it'll never be the same... anymore, anyway
look away, run away, move away.
oh my, look inside, you won't find another (x2)
oh my, look inside, you won't find another
place, any more, any way
any place, any more, any way.
in idaho it's so very cold but the whiskey's warm
and the people know just where to go
when they've taken it too far
we're building banks, and we're shooting blanks,
and we're giving thanks to all that good booze you drank
and I don't know... but I'll die here someday, any more, anyway
any place, any more, anyway
oh my, look inside, you won't find another (x2)
oh my, look inside, you won't find another
place, any more, any way
any place, any more, any way
the logging trucks they fill the air with dust
and i'm headed home i got a couple bucks to my name
and here comes the rain
oh please, wash it down, oh please, fill the streets
and the mobile homes, how they rust and creak
and I know... I'll die here someday, any more, anyway
any place, any more, any way
oh my, look inside, you won't find another (x2)
oh my, look inside, you won't find another
place, any more, any way
any place, any more, any way

Trucks & Guns
03:27
|
|||
trucks and guns, trucks and guns
I gotta whole lotta trucks and guns
trucks and guns, trucks and guns
when the feds get you on the run
sure is nice to have them trucks and guns
junk and shit, junk and shit,
I gotta whole heap'a junk and shit
still ain't found no use for it
this yard full'a junk and shit
well my neighbors think i'm a dick
they're just jealous of my junk and shit
they're all jealous of my chevy truck
burns a lot of gas but i don't give a fuck
it takes me from my trailer to the bar
i'll punch the air in front of your face
just to give you a little taste
of how bad i'll pound you if you ever touch my shit
dogs and debt, dogs and debt,
i gotta pack'a dogs and mountain of debt
squeezin tight around my neck
i gotta himalayan mountain of debt
and lord i ain't done quite yet
war and peace, war and peace
i never read it but i shot some geese
i heard it was a revolutionary piece,
that good ol' war and peace
you know, claudius married his neice
he ain't russian? wellll, neither are we
oh he ain't russian and we ain't neither
but i gotta hundred and ten bird feeders
and an engine block out on my front porch
oh the world is so much sweeter
when you pack a winchester repeater
and kill any many who tries to touch my
trucks and guns and junk and shit and
dogs... well you can keep my debt, but my
trucks and shit and junk and dogs and
guns and war and peace are all my own

Heroes Stand Aside
03:49
|
|||
tell me what to do so i can make it up to you
i'm lost and i'm lonesome again
this mountain's got my blood and I've been
waiting for the flood,
and i've been waiting on a dime
i could be weightless on the line
instead of placeless in my time
wasted on the vine
wasting all my time
cocaine on your knees
hey that's a rich man's disease
i'll take a bottle to your lackluster grave
our twenties took their pound of flesh
from bodies in their downward spirals
the older that you live is that much
colder when you give yourself to
smoldering remains
junkies for the pain
and no one knows your name
well i'm still here breathing
kicking, drinking and receiving
all them passive innuendos that you make
world don't owe me nothing
cause my time will be forgotten
all you heroes stand aside while i break

Idaho
05:03
|
|||
you see, these mountains are all pointed north
and the christians are building a dam
they'll keep the faith on in
it's a long way til thaw in the spring
and the mudslides with power they bring
down the mountain
this here's the death of a town in the west
all the cowboys and loggers have left
you tireless dreams
oh ohhh where'd it go?
oh ohhh idaho
well i keep to myself these days
it ain't so hard to disappear
once a week or so
we all go out and sing our songs
and drink out beer
oh ohhh where'd it go?
oh ohhh idaho
oh ohhh where'd it go?
oh ohhh idaho

Get Me Lost
04:08
|
|||
oh i see you've left it blank
caught a ride, found a dime in your suitcase
let it fall, let it fall
let it fall, let it fall
oh oh oh, oh oh oh
oh oh oh, oh oh oh
all the signs we have erased
get me lost at all costs... before it's too late
get me lost, get me lost
get me lost, get me lost
oh oh oh, oh oh oh
oh oh oh, oh oh oh
oh oh oh, oh oh oh
oh oh oh, oh oh oh

Down in Mexico
02:57
|
|||
sixteen hundred miles down in mexico
there's a place i came undone
sixteen years ago i was twelve years old
and in sixteen years, well, there's another sixteen to go
time it passes slow in mexico
when you got nowhere else to go
changin tires and busted cigarettes
and morning bells, for who i'll never know
lord have mercy on my soul, i'll never know
lord have mercy on my soul, i'll never know

Entertain Us
03:44
|
|||
set her down and pick her up
education costs too much
information's got you burnin and burning
ain't no time, there ain't no way
evolution's been replaced
revelation is that jesus is lard
knock me down and hear the hiss
oh the gravel cuts the wrists
and the immigrants are learning, they're learning
cry the havoc, feel the pain
barrel down this road again
hit the throat and then you
call up the dogs of war
hey, entertain us all
hey, i'll watch you fall
hey, entertain us please
hey, let's go down, down and dirty
knock her up, you've got the touch
why we all make such a fuss
write a check because you're leaving, you're leaving
dig it down and dig it wide
throw in all you got to hide
light a match and watch it
all go up in flames
chew the circle, spit it out
and domestically we shout
know me well enough, I'm schemin I'm schemin
spill the blood, hey i don't mind
this shit happens all the time
just be sure that you can find someone to blame
hey, entertain us all
hey, i'll watch you fall
hey, entertain us please
hey, let's go down, down and dirty

To Fall Apart
03:32
|
|||
blow wind blow
save yourself
it's comin apart, piece by piece
let's watch it blow
left the oars behind
stab the head, left for dead
forget all we've known
certified, lost and overgrown
blow wind blow
serve yourself
it's comin apart, piece by piece
let's watch it blow

Harold's IGA Sandpoint, Idaho
Harold's IGA was a classic grocery store in Sandpoint. It was bulldozed to the ground to make room for progress. Now it's an
indie folk-rock band with an ever-changing cast of characters. Ben Olson writes the songs. Cadie Archer plays a multitude of instruments. Josh Vitalie pounds the drums. It's fun.
This band doesn't take itself too seriously. Nor should it.
